Loralie’s 10-Month Periodization Case Study

From Loralie:

My goal when I joined EPN was simple- I wanted to feel better. I’d been experiencing low energy, moodiness, weight gain, and brain fog for a few years thanks to perimenopause.

With Kate and Laura’s guidance, I focused on the basics: sleep, stress management, movement, hydration, and, of course, nutrition. And it worked. My energy level and mood increased, my sleep improved, and my anxiety and stress levels dropped. It wasn’t until I had all those boxes ticked that I went into a four-month fat-loss phase.

I can’t thank my coaches or my cohort peers enough - I’m thriving in my 50s because of their knowledge and support!

The Periodization Plan:

July 2023: Started 12-Week Intro to Maintenance Cohort

October - December 2023: 12-Week Maintenance+ Phase with her EPN continuing group.

January - April 2024: Fat Loss Phase

May- September 2024: Performance Maintenance for the summer activities.

October - December 2024: Muscle Gain phase

The Long Game:

After spending years overtraining and undereating, Loralie needed to go through 6 months of maintenance and maintenance+.

By January, Loralie was in an optimal position to start a fat-loss phase.

Loralie’s Key Takeaways of the Process:

  • Perimenopause doesn’t have to feel like a death march if you’re eating enough to support your body and activity level.

  • Change your mindset from “looking my best” to “feeling my best”

  • Join EPN and they’ll give you all the tools you need to help you reach your goals

  • PS. Couldn’t have done it on my own… 😘
