A COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE TO LIBRA
The weight trends app for Android
we love data, but you’ve got to be able to read it
While the scale is one of many metrics we look at, it’s arguably the worst interpreted.
We often see prospective clients putting too much weight on the day-to-day measurements (or fail to take measurements regularly), and don’t spend the time to look at the 2 and 4-week trends.
We don’t expect everyone to be an Excel wiz, so instead, we recommend all of our clients download either HappyScale (iOS) or Libra (Android). to take charge of looking at their own weight trends!
In this guide we’re breaking down how to use the Android option, Libra 👉
Imagine you’re in a fat loss phase....
... and you see this.
You might think to yourself, “Wow, this is failing; nothing is happening, and I should probably slash my calories.”
...We promise the next slide is the exact same data set.
When in Reality...
You have an Android, and you’re using Libra.
You see that weight is trending down -0.9lb and you don’t change anything. You know the process is working.
Let’s get started
We want to tweak a few settings before we get to using the app.
Go to ‘Settings’ ➡️
Enable ‘Sync with Health Connect’ ⟵ this automatically ensures your weights pull into Libra from wherever you choose to log them
Under ‘Advanced Preferences’ change the smoothing & forecast days to reflect the below:
Why Smooth?
The smoothing is the secret sauce to reducing the noise in your weigh-ins, especially for women, smoothing on a 28-day cycle helps.
Time spans
One unique ability of Libra is the ability to add time spans, color coded sections that overlay your weight trends graph.
to do this select the 3 dots in the upper righthand corner of the weight chart and select ‘Time spans’.
From here you’ll be able to edit and color code various sections of your graph.
View your Trends:
Libra allows you to view your trends in the moment by clicking on the trends on the lower left hand corner you can expand the data to see your current weight trends.
Note: there is currently no way to view historical trends.
